1. A Cantina Pulpería Luís
Galicia is famous for it’s octopus, pulpo a la feira. Hailed as one of the best pulperías (restaurants specializing in octopus) in Galicia, a stop at A Cantina Pulpería Luis is obligatory when visiting Sarria. Inside, you’ll find a bright, modern space with large, communal style tables that you’ll share with locals.
As for ordering, a plate of pulpo and a few Estrella de Galicia (beer) or the house wine, accompanied by bread, will do just fine! If you’re hungry, order the local carne (veal) or an empanada de atún (tuna empanada) in addition. To top it off, try some queso de membrillo which is Galician cheese and quince paste for dessert. Yum!
You won’t regret a stop here where you’ll be greeted with great food and a great value for the price. Plus, the experience of watching the cooks prepare the octopus something you won’t want to miss!

2. Hotel Restaurante Roma
Attached to Hotel Roma, the Roma restaurant is a Sarria favorite. If you’re looking for typical Spanish fare and a white tablecloth atmosphere, this is the place for you. (Alternately, if you’re staying here, it’s convenient, so come on down!)
From grilled meats and fish to stews and salads, Roma has got it all when it comes to typical Spanish, Galician, and Mediterranean food. Try the a local caldo gallego, a soup made of made of pork, white beans, and greens and any of the wide selection of grilled meats. A plate of padrón peppers (from nearby Padrón, Spain) to share is always a good choice as well!
At Roma, you can also order a prix fixe meal, which at the time of this writing costs 18€ and includes an appetizer, main, bread, drink, and dessert.

3. Pizzería Salento
Pizza isn’t always our first choice when visiting Spain, but you must try this Italian-owned and operated pizzeria first hand. Made with thinner, authentic Italian-style crust and fresh ingredients, Pizzería Salento’s pizzas are not only delicious but a great price for the quality and quantity.
We recommend the salento which is topped with tomato, mozzarella, mascarpone, arugula, jamón serrano, and parmesan! ¡Qué rico!
The atmosphere is casual with outdoor seating and ideal for sharing a few different pizzas with new friends. This popular Sarria restaurant is located just in front of the Hotel Alfonso IX.
4. EcoEspazo Vitriol
It can be hard to eat healthy when traveling, so having lunch at this little haven is just the ticket for the health conscious. At EcoEspazo Vitriol, you can order lots of vegetarian and vegan dishes, gluten free options, and even green smoothies!
They’ve also got plenty of herbal tea, so if you’re tired of the usual chamomile offered at most Spanish bars, take advantage of one of their many elevating blends, get out your journal, and stay awhile at one of Sarria’s favorite restaurants…

Food choices here are a bit snazzier than your traditional Spanish and taste freshly prepared just for you! We love the good selection of fresh salads, elevated modern and classic dishes, and dessert choices. The burger here, made with Galician beef, is to die for!
